Talkin’ ’bout our Generations

Chris White; VMG and Mongrel Training and Consulting

In which we discuss…
• Are Gen Z a bunch of “woke, unproductive, work-shy snowflakes, lacking in initiative, loyalty, and the basic skills required for human interaction”?
• Are Gen X & Baby Boomers a bunch of “inflexible, technologically illiterate luddites who bang on about the good old days wearing rose-tinted spectacles”?
• And ‘Millennials’? Remember when they appeared and started talking about work-life balance like they were from a different planet…
And in which we conclude that:
• We have more in common than that which divides us (as the late, great Jo Cox put it)
• There are significant attitudinal differences between the generations that need to be understood in order to lead and work together more effectively
And, don’t worry, despite the musical title – Chris has promised he is not going to sing!

Emotional safety: Why managing our patients’ fear, anxiety and stress is good for everyoneKatrin Jahn, Trinity Behaviour

In this session, you will understand why protecting and treating our patients’ mental, emotional and behavioural health is no longer an area that veterinary teams can or should shy away from, but rather an area to enhance all aspects of veterinary care.
